Genting Highlands, among the most visited tourist resorts in Malaysia, is a mountain located on the border between the states of Pahang and Selangor. Located 1700 meters above sea level, Genting Highlands can be reached by car within one hour from Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital, and is also accessible by the world's fastest cable car Genting Skyway. The resort was discovered by late Tan Sri Lam Goh Tong in 1960s.

Attractions
Major attractions you can enjoy while Genting Highlands travel are the theme parks, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum, a world class golf course, a sky-diving simulator and many more. The outdoor rides in the theme park would take you on a roller coaster ride. These are really exciting and are sure to pump you up. Moreover they are economical and suit every financial pocket. You must not forget to visit the snow world. Before entering, you are provided with warm clothes like boots, gloves and jackets because the giant chilling room sends chills down the spine. It is a great place to explore. There is also a two story wooden hut which figures ice statues. Penang Hill, a tourist attraction located in the island of Penang in Malaysia was a place I have always wanted to visit and finally, imagine my excitement, when I got the change to experience it!

I managed to reach the Penang Hill counter to purchase tickets to take the train up to Penang Hill. I was surprised to see that upon reaching the entrance to take the train, it was an uphill ride. The train was painted red and white and was built to shape the tracks leading up and down. This was very impressive as it gave a stable standing ground so you will not feel like you are falling backwards or moving upwards. Since there is no need to control my body movement, I could actually enjoy the ride up. As I moved to the first platform before we changed train to reach to the top, it was getting colder and I did enjoy the cool breeze on my skin. The air was amazing and extremely clean and breathing it in was really making me feel on cloud nine.

Once I reached to the top, I walked out and experienced the view. There were beautiful trees and flowers located on each side and the view of Penang Island from the top was truly amazing. By then, the landscape was just like little building toys that someone placed in the midst of the island and the whole island is just a stand alone island floating on the beach. What a sight.....

In the midst of this serene place, there is still some development. There is a range of restaurant and shops that one could savor to taste the Penang Island food and on the right is a police station and small hotel. I really wanted to enjoy this experienced so I rented a bicycle to cycle around. Just cycling around the hill was really refreshing and exciting all at the same time. This is because the air on Penang Hill makes you feel so energetic you just feel you could go on and on. There is a temple on top of the hill and hearing the chanting of the priest and smell of the incense just adds an extra touch to this place.

Marine Life And Wildlife At Sipadan Island


As one of the top dive sites in the world, Sipadan Island has been blessed with a myriad of reefs amidst crystal clear blue water. With visibility of between 60 and 200 feet, the sea surrounding this mushroom shaped island is a perfect habitat for over 3000 species of fish. Beautiful hard and soft coral thrive abundantly, almost untouched by the spoils of civilization. This is the perfect feeding ground for reef fishes of various shapes, sizes, breeds and color. In fact, turtles are common sight here, as they rest and feed in peace within the ledges of the Drop-Off.


As colorful parrot fish, butterfly fish, angel fish, and hundreds of other colored fishes play amongst the corals, divers will also marvel at the passing schools of barracudas, parrot fish or needle fish. Search within staghorns, and you may be able to catch a glimpse of a tiny clown fish foraging for food. Looking between the rock crevices, you will see hiding eels or even a small shrimp. Sea cucumbers and star fish line the floor of the sea, while small fishes and eels hide under large boulders.

The abundance of small fishes also attracts the presence of larger predator fish, such as the small Black Tipped Reef Sharks, Hammerheads, manta rays and even large cuttlefish. Even turtles seeking for jellyfish can be seen gliding gently over the seabed, although the sheer abundance of the turtles in Sipadan will surprise you!

If you are taking a night dive, you may even catch a glimpse of the lion fish, leaf fish and frog fish, possibly taken aback by the light you use to shine on them. Of course, night dives bring out a foray of different type of marine life, such as the Bumphead Parrot Fish, all types of crabs and nudibranchs amidst the vivid colors of the corals at night.

While the rich marine is the true highlight of Pulau Sipadan, this island is also a habitat for many types of birds. The lush fauna within has helped this island earn its status as a bird sanctuary as declared in 1933. Bird watchers are able to catch glimpses of the white-collared kingfisher, sea eagles, olive-backed sunbird and pigeons. On the ground, monitor lizards and coconut crabs also make Sipadan their home.

This has been only just a glimpse of the variety of species you will find when you visit Sipadan. A visit to this island is necessary to marvel at the awesome beauty Sipadan has to offer.

The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur are one of the world’s tallest buildings. From 1998 to 2004 they remained as the tallest building ever built, however in 2004 Taipei 101 in Taiwan took the title which stands nearly 200 foot taller. But even if Taipei 101 is taller than the Petronas Towers, the Petronas Towers still stand today as the world’s tallest twin towers.

The Petronas Twin Towers were designed by the architect Casar Pelli, and was fully accomplished in the year 1998. The towers are based upon a Muslim symbol which is throughout the design of the building . The Petronas Twin Towers boasts the worlds deepest foundations at 120m. The immense scale of Petronas is impressive. You’ll only really gonna appreciate the detail of it’s Islamic design once you see it in person. Not only does this show that the architect actually engaged with the surroundings of the building he was designing - Malaysia is a Muslim country - but it also gives these towers a look that is simultaneously very modern and very local. It is always good to see examples of non-westernized modernity and these towers are an icon of that thinking.

Underneath the Petronas Twin Towers are the Suria KLCC shopping mall, and the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas which is the home of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. Tower One is fully occupied by the Petronas Company which is Malaysia’s national oil company and a number of its subsidiaries and partners. Tower Two is nearly all available for lease companies which have offices in Tower Two include Al Jazeera International, Boeing, IBM and Microsoft.

Outside the towers is KLCC park which looks lovely, and of course is the paddling pool for all you children out there. But the best is the Skybridge. It’s accesible on the 41st and 42nd floors so is approximately half way up the buildings have 88 floors each. This bridge connects between the the two Towers. This bridge weighs 750 tons and is 170m above ground. A maximum of 1700 visitors are allowed to visit the building per day. It is a free pass to travel in the sky bridge, there won’t be charging money to travel in the sky bridge. The sky bridge also acts as a safety purpose to shift the people from one tower to another in the case of emergency.

Sure thing, the Petronas Towers is not only a building but a tourist attraction as well. One of the most attractive building ever built!
