CORONAVIRUS - MAJOR CONCERNS FOR SEVEN EU COUNTRIES WHO HAVE AN 'INCREASED RISK OF MORTALITY'

Seven European Union countries (Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Malta) are showing an evolution of the Covid-19 epidemic which is causing "great concern" and an increased risk of mortality, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) announced today.

According to a new risk assessment report, released by this European agency responsible for monitoring epidemics, this group of countries presents "a more increased proportion of serious cases or hospitalization" along with an increase in mortality that has "already been observed" or "may be observed soon".
